1. Characteristics
Beautiful color, strong tinting strength, high purity, and resistance to strong sunlight, atmospheric influences, polluted gases, and various climate changes. Good alkali resistance, but poor acid resistance. It has a strong coating effect on rubber products, reacting with sunlight, air, acids and alkalis, and hot sulfuric acid, but remains unchanged by sulfur or hydrogen sulfide. It has a reinforcing effect and prevents the aging of rubber products. It is also suitable for molding plastic products where thermal stability requirements are not critical in processing temperatures. It can increase the coefficient of friction and reduce friction loss in asbestos plastic products such as brake pads and brake discs. It is economical to use.

2. Applications
Iron oxide pigments for rubber are suitable for the following rubber products: Various inner tube products: automobile inner tubes, aircraft wheel inner tubes, bicycle and rickshaw tires, etc. Model products: shoe soles, heels, bottle stoppers, hot water bottles, gloves, ball tires, rubber tiles, etc. Hard products: Chemical materials, insulation materials, battery containers, medical devices, stationery, etc. Others: Tubes, belts, bags, wires, tarpaulins, etc. Iron oxide pigments for plastics are suitable for coloring the following plastic products: Thermosetting plastics: Urea-formaldehyde plastics, melamine resin plastics, phenolic plastics, foam plastics, asbestos plastics (brake pads, brake pedals, etc.). Thermoplastic plastics: Polystyrene plastics, polyvinyl chloride plastics (colored films, plastic flooring), polyethylene molding compounds, etc.
In rubber and plastics applications, iron oxide red, which is free of heavy metal ions such as copper and manganese, can be used in aircraft tires to prevent rubber aging. Iron oxide pigments, with their strong tinting strength and pure color, are used as colorants and fillers in PVC flooring and colored PVC films, as well as in thermosetting plastics such as electroplating powder and bakelite powder, and thermoplastics such as polyolefins. Iron oxide pigments, when formulated as masterbatches or pastes, are particularly popular in the plastics industry. Because they are non-toxic, transparent iron oxide pigments are used abroad to color plastic beer bottles, pharmaceutical vials, and food packaging plastics. They are a new type of additive pigment for plastics.

3. Usage
The use of iron oxide pigments on rubber: Generally, raw rubber is washed and refined, then mechanically treated to achieve the necessary plasticity. Vulcanizing agents and fillers such as iron oxide pigments, zinc oxide, and calcium carbonate are then added to control the rubber blank. This is then processed into various rubber products. How to use iron oxide pigments on plastics: For products such as asbestos plastic brake pads, mix the resin, asbestos, and iron oxide pigment, adjust the viscosity with a solvent, knead, and dry. Then, place the asbestos plastic in a press to form wood-grain decorative paper. How to use iron oxide pigments on polyvinyl chloride plastics: First, mix the iron oxide pigment and plasticizer (such as dizinc phthalate) into a thick paste (the dosage is divided into 2:1, 1:1.1, 1:0.5, etc., according to oil absorption). Place the paste on a flat roller or three-roll mill (transparent and opaque films are available). Then, according to the transparent or opaque film formula, evenly blend the various components with the color paste until no colored threads, spots, or grains are formed. Place this colored polyvinyl chloride paste in an applicator and evenly apply it to a glass plate. Allow it to settle, drain, and defoam. Place in a 180°C blower oven for plasticization. After 10 minutes, remove and cool to form a colorless or colored PVC film.
