Heat Stable Black Oxide

Heat Stable Black Oxide

Product Introduction

Manganese iron black is produced by calcining manganese and iron oxides. Compared to organic black and carbon black, it has higher temperature resistance, reaching temperatures of 700 to 800 degrees Celsius. Compared to copper chrome black, its tinting strength is lower, but its lower price gives it a competitive advantage. Manganese iron black, also known as Pigment Black 33, is produced through high-temperature calcination, resulting in a unique chemical structure.

Advantage

1. Color-related Performance: It has high hiding power, which means it can effectively cover the substrate, reducing the need for excessive layers of paint or coating. Its strong tinting power allows for vivid and intense coloring, with a tinting strength of 95 - 105% compared to the standard (ISO787 - 24). The color difference (△E) is ≤1.0 (ISO 787 -1), ensuring color consistency in large-scale production.
2. Stability: It offers excellent light resistance and weather resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. In particular, it has good heat stability, with some grades like the heat-stable version being able to withstand temperatures up to 800°C (ISO787 - 21), which is crucial for applications in high-temperature environments, such as in certain industrial coatings or ceramics.

Main Uses

Heat Stable Black Oxide has extensive applications in a variety of industries.

1. Paints and Coatings: It is a popular choice for both decorative and industrial coatings. In decorative coatings, it can be used to create elegant black or dark-toned finishes for walls, furniture, etc. In industrial coatings, its stability properties make it suitable for protecting metal surfaces, providing corrosion resistance along with an aesthetically pleasing color.
2. Building Materials: It is used in products like bricks, tiles, and concrete. Adding this pigment can enhance the visual appeal of these building materials, creating different shades of black or dark-colored products. Its heat stability also makes it suitable for applications where the building materials may be exposed to high temperatures during manufacturing processes.
3. Inks: In the ink industry, it can be used to produce high-quality black inks for printing on various substrates, such as paper, plastic, and textiles. Its good dispersion properties ensure smooth and consistent ink flow during the printing process.
4. Plastics: It is added to plastics to impart color. The pigment's compatibility with plastics allows for uniform dispersion, resulting in plastic products with a stable and attractive black color. It can be used in a wide range of plastic products, from household items to automotive parts.
5. Ceramics: Due to its heat resistance, it is used in ceramic glazes and bodies. It can withstand the high-temperature firing processes in ceramic manufacturing, contributing to the coloration of ceramic products, whether they are decorative art pieces or functional ceramics.
6. Paper: In the paper industry, it can be used to color paper products, such as high-end stationery or packaging materials.
